Akrum Elkhazin

Meet the Speaker:

Akrum Elkhazin is a Tech lead at TikTok working to improve creation video quality and performance. Prior to this, he spent 12+ years at small and large companies designing HW video encoders (MPEG2/H264/HEVC/VP9/AV1) and video processing algorithms. Akrum received his B.A.Sc. in System Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and Master and Ph.D in Wireless Communication from the University of Toronto. In his spare time, Akrum enjoys kitesurfing, mountain climbing and ski touring.
