Science, Technology

Forensic Science is the application of science to law. Forensic Science and the Crime Laboratory’s role in a criminal investigation have been significantly greater due to advances in scientific methods and technology! In my presentation, I will share my path to a career in Forensic Science and will also discuss the various sections of the Santa Clara County District Attorney Crime Laboratory to provide an overview of how science is used to solve crimes and exonerate the innocent.

Meet the Speaker:

Jeremiah Garrido is currently a Criminalist/DNA Analyst assigned to the Santa Clara County Crime Laboratory Forensic Biology Unit. His primary duties at the Crime Laboratory include assisting law enforcement in processing crime scenes for physical evidence, performing forensic DNA analysis, and providing expert witness testimony in court.
