Where the Internet Lives: From Hard Hats to the AI Boom

Tech/ Real Estate
School wasn't built for Howard Berry. He left early, skipped college, and learned by building things with his hands, a path that led him to help shape the infrastructure behind the internet and AI.
Meet the Speaker:
Howard Berry is a Principal and National Director of Data Center Solutions at Avison Young. He leads a national team that helps companies find, buy, and build data centers, the massive buildings that power the internet, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
Howard didn't start in tech. He began his career in commercial construction management, learning how buildings come together from the ground up. He moved into commercial real estate at Grubb & Ellis, then built Colliers International's national data center business. Today he advises some of the world's largest tech companies on where to put their next data centers, a puzzle that involves power grids, land, money, and public policy.
He also comments weekly on a data center industry news show and writes about where technology is headed.
At STEM Week, he'll share how a career in buildings led him to the center of the AI boom.
