Being a vet after designing @AMNH

Science
I have taken an atypical path: first across country to art school then back to Ca, then to NYC doing exhibit design then back to Ca where I began prepping to apply to vet school then back to PA for vetschool and then back to CA...how did I do this and why?
Meet the Speaker:
Veterinary medicine is a second career for me. I studied Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. After colllege I worked as an Exhibit Designer for the American Museum of Natural History (NYC) though I spent much of my free time hanging out with Post Docs, fascinated by their research and the far away places it took them. ¶For my career change,
I entered the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine with two small children and some trepidation about attending graduate school with people nearly half my age. After eight years on the East Coast our family ventured home to the Bay Area where I work at Adobe Animal Hospital with caring, talented and motivated colleagues. ¶My interest is in surgery although I am dedicated to all aspects of veterinary medicine. I do chemotherapy, see exotics and can accommodate at-home euthanasia when requested. My goal, above all, is excellent communication to ensure my clients feel they are well informed and a part of medical decisions for their animal companion.
